KSC Christmas Card

Following on from the amazing success of last year’s Christmas
card, Katy McIntyre Brown has designed another for us to use.
Last year we raised enough money to send one child to boarding
school in Kenya for a whole year. This year we would like to raise
enough to send 2! So, please support us and make this year’s
card your choice for all your family and friends.

The inside of the card reads ‘Wishing you all Peace, Joy and
Happiness for Christmas and the New Year’.

The card is A6 and comes in a pack of 10 for £6. All proceeds will
be going directly to The Karen Street Children’s Trust.

BPST Fundraising efforts raise over KSH 182,000!

The British Army in Nairobi, supporting The Karen Street Children’s Trust as their nominated local charity, recently held a car boot fair on the playfing fields of Hillcrest School.  The event raised over KSH 182,000 giving a much needed boost to the Trust’s coffers.  Local businesses in Nairobi donated raffle prizes for which we were extremely grateful and KSH 70,000 was raised through the raffle.  It was a great day out with over 70 cars attending, with music and catering to suit all tastes.

A film on the Karen Street Children

Maia Kenworthy Film Student UK

Maia Kenworthy, a film student whose mother is one of our UK Trustees, has recently been in Karen filming some of our students in their own environment to raise awareness of the Charity both here and abroad. We hope this short film will be a huge success and thank Maia for giving us her time and leaving us with a brilliant film to use as a future marketing and fund-raising tool.

Laptop Appeal!

Connie Holmes Donates her Laptop to the Karen Street Children

After an exhaustive quest for laptops, just like a London bus, 5 arrived at once.  Connie and Jack Holmes, who were lucky enough to get upgrades from their parents, donated their old laptops to The Karen Street Children’s Trust.  The British Army based in Karen were able to give us an old replaced model and visitors to Romi were able to bring us their old laptops as well.

On returning to the UK, Claire visited her children’s old school, Hordle Walhampton School, to make an appeal and they willingly handed over 9 laptops which had been replaced over the summer holidays.

If you are aware of any laptops which need a good home, please let us know.  We will tell you how to get them to us.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this much needed upgrade in technology!
